Lord Krishna
Lord Krishna is one of the most famous and revered deities in Hinduism. He is considered to be the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who is responsible for the preservation of the universe. Here is a brief biography of Lord Krishna-----
Birth and Childhood
Lord Krishna was born in the city of Mathura to King Vasudev and Queen Devaki. According to myths, it is believed that Lord Krishna was born on the eighth day of the waning moon in the month of Bhadon, which falls between August-September. Right after his birth, Lord Krishna was secretly taken by Vasudeva to Gokul village to save him from the wrath of his maternal uncle Kansa.
Leela (Life) of Lord Krishna
Lord Krishna showed supernatural powers from a very young age and was known to be very mischievous. According to Hindu mythology, he performed many miracles including lifting Govardhan Hill to save people from floods and killing the demon Putana. Lord Krishna also played an important role in the Mahabharata war between the Pandavas and the Kauravas. He became Arjun's charioteer and imparted the knowledge of Bhagavad Gita.
Marriage and Family
Lord Krishna was married to Rukmini, who was considered an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi. He had a total of eight wives and his most famous wife was Radha, who is considered to be his eternal wife. Lord Krishna had many children from his wives, including his son Samba, who was his only child from his wife Jambavati.
Death and Legacy
It is believed that Lord Krishna died due to an arrow shot by a hunter, which accidentally hit his leg. The legacy of Lord Krishna is still celebrated in India, and he is considered one of the most important and revered deities in Hinduism. His teachings have transcended time and are applicable even in modern times.
