Enema Procedure, benefits and precautions
Why do we become sick?
Nowadays, Puri-kachori, Bhature-chhole and such heavy food have become a part of our life. Working people often survive by having such lunch in the afternoon. Such food accumulates feces inside us for weeks. After all, constipation persists for some days; fever persists for some days; the doctor's medicines keep poisoning the body system for some days. After some feces are expelled, we recover a little, but the body remains like a rat. Because, the poison of the medicines is dissolved inside.
What to do when you are sick?
Open the doors of excreta completely. When feces can be expelled by just this, then why fall sick in vain? Why pay the fees of doctors and medicines?
Yes, during fasting, there is no pressure of fresh food. Still, it is necessary to expel the feces from inside. For this, an enema should be taken. Even if the cleaning of the colon is incomplete, an enema should be taken.
When and how to take an enema?
(1) Time
Get up in the morning and go to the toilet. Take an enema. If you have the habit of going to the toilet twice, then take the enema after the second time. If it is necessary to take enema for several days continuously, then it can be taken at night, before going to sleep.
(2) Method
Enema should be taken by lying on the back, or kneeling and resting on the elbows.
(3) Refreshment
Immediately after taking the enema, one should drink fresh water, or half a kilo of hot water that can be drunk.
(4) The container or bag for enema
should be at a height of about one meter. By keeping it at a higher height, the water comes down forcefully and reaches inside through the anus with speed, due to which the need for defecation starts to be felt soon.
(5) Water
Only that much water should be taken inside through enema, as much as can be taken easily without any pain. In the beginning, one kilo is sufficient, which can be gradually increased to two kilos. Small children can be given 200 grams, 250 grams, 300 grams of water through enema as per their condition. In this regard, advice should be taken from a physician, doctor or an expert. The truth is that in naturopathy, you can be your own best doctor.
(6) Temperature of water
Put your hand in the water and see if it is bearable. For the information of those who know the temperature, it is requested that the water be heated up to 1100 Fahrenheit.
(7) Mixture in water
The juice of one lemon is sufficient in two kilos of water. Filter the water and lemon juice with a clean (washed white) cloth. 25 grams of Madhu (honey) can also be mixed in the water. If the chamber is very hard, i.e. if there is severe constipation, then 10 grams of ground salt should also be mixed in the water.
(8) Nozzle of the enema apparatus
Before taking an enema, open the nozzle and take out about 20 grams of water. This removes the air present in the front part of the tube. Before inserting the nozzle in the anus, it is necessary to apply ghee or oil on the front end.
After taking the enema, wash the entire apparatus including the tube with soap and warm water.
(9) Urge to defecate
Many times, rather often, one feels the urge to defecate while taking an enema. If the urge is not very strong, one should try to stop it for a while. By doing this, only the water of the enema comes out through the anus, and not the stool. When the urge becomes strong and cannot be stopped, one should defecate and then take an enema again.
(10)Waiting
After taking the enema, try to wait for 3 to 4 minutes and turn to the right or left side. This helps dissolve the stool in the water introduced through the enema, which is often difficult to hold after taking an enema.
(11) Full enema
If two kilograms of water is to be introduced through enema, it takes 8-10 minutes, it should not take more than this time.
(12) Defecation
If all the water does not come out after sitting for defecation once, then one should sit for defecation again, so that the remaining water comes out along with the remaining stool. If some water still remains inside, then there is no need to worry, after some time it comes out through urine.
(13) Pressure on the anus
When sitting for defecation after enema, one should not put pressure or strain on the anus (excretory passage). The excretory passage should be allowed to work naturally. One should not get up and run away from the toilet in a hurry; one should sit and wait for 10-15 minutes for complete cleaning.
(14) Enema again
If complete cleaning is not done, then enema should be taken again for the second time, but not for the third time. The need to take enema for the second time arises only when there is severe constipation. After taking two enemas on the first day, one should not take more than one enema a day for several days.
(15) Toilet or place
Enema should be taken at a place where the toilet is nearby. It is even better if the toilet is kept nearby.
(16) Bath
There is no harm in taking a bath immediately after an enema. In summers, fresh tap water is good for bathing and it is good if the water in the lamp is bearable hot.
(17) Food
Enema should be taken on an empty stomach.
(a) Do not take breakfast or lunch before enema. If you have eaten something, then enema should be taken three hours after that.
(b) Even if you have eaten food in case of indigestion and there is severe abdominal pain, then there is no harm in taking an enema to remove stool.
(c) Breakfast can be taken fifteen minutes after taking enema. Food can be taken one or two hours after that. The condition is that you should be hungry.
(18) Fasting and enema
If bowel movement has been done properly on the day of fasting, then there is no need to take enema; but if there is constipation, then taking enema along with fasting is necessary. Due to not eating anything during fasting, there is no additional burden on the intestines, so the stool does not move out on its own; Therefore, enema is often necessary during fasting.
(16) Pregnant and enema
Some people think that a pregnant woman should not take enema; this is their misconception. A woman who has problems like vomiting etc., has no harm in taking enema; rather, taking enema relieves many of her problems. Before taking enema, a pregnant woman must ask her doctor or the health center where she has registered about taking enema.
How does an enema help?
How and what benefits enema provides, the views expressed in 'Simple Natural Therapy' are noteworthy----
"If we want to get rid of the diseases arising in our body, then the first way is to clean the rectum and bring it to its natural state. Because, even if we try to remove a disease by any medicine or external treatment, it can never be completely cured by it until the disorders occurring in the rectum are not prevented from entering the blood system as before. The condition of the large intestine in the body is just like a drain in a city. If the garbage of the drain is removed and it is kept clean, then it does not give a foul smell and it does not have any bad effect on anyone's health. If negligence is shown in its cleaning, then it has a bad effect on the health of all the nearby residents.
In the present times, the artificiality that has come in the food and lifestyle of humans, and the fashion The way they have abandoned the bulky health-giving products and have started using mechanical and flashy products in their place, it is difficult to find even five people out of a hundred who do not have some complaint of constipation and whose digestive system can be said to be absolutely fine. That is why these days many people have started needing digestive powders and chutneys. Many people are also seen taking medicines from doctors and vaidyas to clear their stomach. Initially, the stool is removed with the help of medicines and the stomach also feels lighter, but there is no permanent benefit. Due to diarrhoea with the help of medicines, the natural strength of the stomach decreases. If a person, after clearing his stomach once, again starts eating as before, then after some time he gets even more severe constipation than before. In this way, the strength of the stomach of many people keeps on decreasing and by the age of forty-fifty years or even before that, they reach such a state that they do not find any benefit from churna, chutney and laxative medicines and constipation remains always there. In such a condition, the body of a person becomes unhealthy and he cannot do his daily work properly. Gradually, many more diseases develop and their life itself becomes a burden.
The right way of cleaning
The natural way of cleaning the rectum is to pour water into it from outside. This method is natural and harmless, because water only goes into the rectum or the large intestine and comes out with the stool after a while. If the temperature of this water is the same as that of the body, then there is no possibility of any kind of harm to the body due to it. Two types of enema devices are available in the market for this purpose--
(1) This is a very simple and harmless thing. It has an enamel vessel in which up to one and a half seers of water can be filled. A four to five feet long rubber tube is attached to this vessel, at the other end of which there is a tap nozzle. This nozzle is inserted into the anus and water is pumped up.
(2) The second type of enema is like a 'pump'. It is about two feet long, one end of which is put in a vessel of water and the other is inserted in the anus. Then by repeatedly pressing the ball-like part in the middle, water starts flowing from the vessel into the anus.
