In today’s fast-paced world, processed meats are everywhere. From the bacon in your breakfast sandwich to the deli slices in your lunch wrap, these foods offer undeniable convenience and a savory punch. But as these items become staples in the modern diet, health experts are raising red flags about what they actually do to our bodies.
What Exactly is Processed Meat?
The term "processed meat" refers to any meat that has been transformed through salting, curing, fermentation, smoking, or other processes to enhance flavor or improve preservation.

Studies suggest that the preservatives and high iron content in processed meats can interfere with insulin sensitivity and glucose metabolism, potentially leading to an increased risk of Type 2 Diabetes.
